Off-Broadway Tuner Mimi le Duck to Close on 12/3

Off-Broadway's Mimi le Duck, starring Annie Golden and Eartha Kitt, will play its final performance at New World Stages on Sunday, December 3. Upon closing, the show will have played 28 previews and 30 regular performances.

The musical, which premiered at the Adirondack Theatre Festival in 2004 and was followed by a well-received production at the Fringe Festival later that year, started performances off-Broadway on October 11 and officially opened on November 6 to mixed to negative reviews.

The show follows Miriam, a discontented Mormon housewife from Ketchum, Idaho, who, in a moment of desperately crazy inspiration, packs her bags and moves to Paris, leaving behind her husband and her successful career as a painter of duck canvases for the QVC Network.

In addition to Golden and Kitt, the cast features Tom Aldredge, Candy Buckley, Robert DuSold, Allen Fitzpatrick, Ken Jennings and Marcus Neville. Book and lyrics are by Diana Hansen-Young, music by Brian Feinstein, and musical staging by Matt West.
